Roger Munnis - Advance Certified Equine Dentist

Roger Munnis - The Horse Dentist

Roger is one of a very small group of qualified equine dentists within Ireland and has been practicing for over seven years.  He trained in America at the Texas institute of Equine dentistry under master dentist Randy Riedinger. Prior to starting his education at the Texas institute he was fortunate enough to work with Randy on an everyday basis gaining invaluable insight into the equine dental profession and hands on experience that can only be obtained by working with someone like Randy.

He continues to further his education and work towards his Master’s certificate by returning twice a year to keep up to date with any new dental procedures and ensure that all of his currently employed methods and ethics are up to date and the quality of his work is still at the appropriate level.

Among Roger’s clients are trainers Charlie Swan, Michael Halford, Martin Brassil and Arthur Moore, Show jumpers Francis Connors and Conor Swail, Eventers Paul Donovan and Kim O’Gorman and in the last few years he has been working alongside some the countries top veterinary clinics such as Troytown equine hospital, Fethard Equine hospital and even University College Dublin Veterinary Hospital.

Roger has been around horses his entire life and although he spent most of his time working throughout Europe on several prominent stud farms before he became a dentist he has also worked with show jumpers, eventers, hunters and has encountered just about every sort of horse and pony there is at some point in his life.

It is with this in mind that Roger considers all horses equal when it comes to dentistry. Of course some horses are considered more valuable than others and may be better than others at certain things but that is no reason for them to receive preferential treatment in regard to dentistry.  If a horse requires extensive dental work to improve it’s condition, performance and general well being then valuation and pedigree should not play any part in whether or not they should receive the necessary treatment.
